The city of Bouficha occupies a geographical position which has had an impact on the history of the region and the succession of civilizations.
The name of the city originates in the memory of it's inhabitants , and as such it was called "El Borj", which was found on the shore of "Oued Sâad", this name was replaced by
Bouficha which designates a clay soil.
